As you arrive enjoy aerial views of the active volcanic crater before landing on this lunar like surface. Once on the volcano embark on a leisurely guided tour of the island’s crater floor to view active steam vents, fumaroles, hot streams, vibrant sulphur formations and the steaming crater. After exploring the vast Island re-board your machine and enjoy a
20minute scenic flight over the rolling hills of the Bay of Plenty, landing lake edge at a secluded Marae on the shores of Lake Rotoiti.
Upon arriving at the Marae (meeting place) be welcomed the traditional way with a Powhiri. Here you will form a greater understanding of the deep relationship Maori have established with the land and natural geothermal features being used in the ground. You will also learn
about the legends of the Lake Rotoiti region which is stepped in cultural history with numerous stories and battles taking place along the shoreline. Finally top of your Marae
experience with a unique taste of a traditional hangi prepared in an earth oven before embarking on your private catamaran, Tiua.
Tiua meaning ‘to move with the wind’ will pick you up from the Marae’s jetty. Here sit back and relax as we cruise under sail at a pace dictated by you. An abundance of activity options await you, from fishing for trout, to stand up paddle boarding through to swimming into
secluded coves in search of glow worms. The perfect way to top this day of though is to sit back in the stunning lakes edge hot pools only accessible via boat and watch the afternoondrift away. A twenty minute cruise back to our dock will have you to shore in no time,
