A Luxurious Victorian Retreat

Pen-y-bryn (Welsh for “top of the hill” est. 1889) is a unique historic building - the largest single level timber dwelling in the South Island. Richly carved bookcases, fire surrounds and paneling, create a timeless and restful ambience with modern features in harmony with the original.

Evening dining is a highlight, when guests gather, warmed by blazing log fires, to savour first class table d’hôte cuisine accompanied by boutique NZ wines. Your New Zealand owners and hosts delight in giving their personal hospitality – making Pen-y-bryn the perfect place to indulge, relax and unwind.
