GolfingGreen fees and hospitality - New Zealand’s reputation for hospitality extends to welcoming visitors at most clubs, though booking is recommended. Your lodge host will be able to advise on the best course nearby, and may even be able arrange companions to make up a four. New Zealand is an inexpensive country to play golf in and green fees range from $NZ30 to $50-70 at top courses. Facilities will vary from basic to excellent accordingly, but you’ll be delighted at the quality of the less expensive country and suburban courses. Golfing greats, the likes of Nick Faldo, Arnold Palmer and Greg Norman have trodden the fairways of New Zealand and praised their beauty and quality. Tending to the whims of the golfers from around the world, the choices are as unpredictable and as full of contrasts as the country itself. New Zealand golf clubs have their major competition season during the winter/spring months of May to October. This means visitors are likely to find the courses relatively quiet during the best weather, especially away from the cities. |
