Business as usual for the Lodges of New Zealand

The earthquake which struck Christchurch and the surrounding areas on Saturday 4 September has caused damage in localised areas in and around Christchurch. All other regions of New Zealand are unaffected. General information is available on the Tourism New Zealand website: http://www.newzealand.com/travel/about-nz/features/earthquake-statement/...

The damage was confined to specific parts of the city and surrounding areas. The aiport has reopened after checks were carried out and travel to New Zealand via Christchurch has resumed and most accommodation providers are able to operate normally.

A number of the Lodges of New Zealand are located in and around this region and we are pleased to report that all bar one has reported no damage and that business is proceeding as normal. Visitors can be assured of warm hospitality and no interuption to normal service levels.

Sadly, one of our lodges, Otahuna Lodge, was damaged by the earthquake and if you have a booking with this lodge they will by now have contacted you. Restoration work has already begun and Otahuna will soon reopen and will no doubt emerge from this in even better form.
