There are many activities available locally that will let you get a glimpse of what makes this such a special place to live and visit! Trek by horse over mountain passes. Fish for salmon or trout in the mighty Waiau River, or just enjoy the scenery and bird life along the way.

Relax at the health spa and thermal pools at Hanmer Springs. Wander along the river, play tennis or swim at the lodge. Or just lie back in the hammock, with a good book and glass of local wine. Whatever you choose to do while you stay at Sherwood, you can be sure of several things – you will experience good food, comfortable beds, fresh mountain air, stunning scenery, genuinely warm and friendly personal attention from locals who want to share our wonderful country with you.
